About the movie called WebCamWorld

First internet production

New media rule the world, literally, right now, since first video player was published. Nobody could imagine how exactly the world could work without streaming, ftp accounts, emails and community services. Movies (specially illegal ones:0) were always one of the most important and enjoyable part of the web. In this virtual place everybody could write, make and produce short movies, and since YouTube it become a popular resource. Who wasn't dreaming about being an actress, director, cameraman? It's time to make our own dreams come true. It's time for first internet movie. And first online film production. We all work for the web - we are designers, producers, writers and filmmakers who were born in such great multimedia age when everything is possible. We were (or still are) addicted to internet, it's our work place, private place, family & friends place. We know we aren't the only ones - there are billions of people who live & work exactly like us and internet is very important part of their existence. If we can make such incredible things like games, websites, books and music just sitting in front of our monitors, why we couldn't make a movie? And when we say "we", we mean all of us - internet users form all around the world? Complicated? Maybe. Difficult? Probably. Impossible? Why exactly should it be impossible? We would like to invite you all in this multimedia journey, be with us, work with us and have great fun :0) Of course we want to make something great, hilarious and original, but the most important thing is to laugh and spend really incredible time with all of you folks ;-) No matter how you look like, where you live, what you do, how old are you. You need only the internet connection, camera (even the simplest one), microphone and smile on your face.

Wishmaster’s idea

“WebCam World” has born two years ago, when Jasmine was going back to home after 6hours long video conference with London and New York. Tired and bored almost to death she thought it has to be another way to use this wonderful technology for something creative. After another few hours, six coffees and pack of cigarettes the first script was ready. Few months passed by and Jasmine couldn't find any professional movie studio interested in this project. She was very close to throw it off and get back to work in the advertisement industry again, when she met Ulla (B-Label), who after few evenings of laughs and jokes, promised her to make it work. "I wasn't very sure if it's gonna work, I couldn't imagine the result" she said. "But Jasmine was stubborn as hell and patient enough to explain me every aspect of it and till then I've been in love in this project." The first idea was to cast every character from another country and manage it only by online directing but it didn't work. "It was great idea, but I couldn't picture myself to directing all actors through Skype" Jasmine said. "It’s not about communications but technical aspects. Maybe next time" She added. Wishmasters casted the main cast from people who were able to work at Warsaw and started to work with them. There are still no investors but "it's only the beginning" says Ulla, smiling wildly. "We strongly believe we will find somebody who will understand how great possibilities are in this project. Specially for sponsors and investors. We have great opportunity for example for product placements.”Wishmasters pay for their own, private money. "We don’t need ‘Transformers 2’ special effects" Jasmine laughs. "Plus it's easier to manage all things. Of course we risk, but hey, everybody, who wanted to do something extraordinary was risking".But what's the main idea? "The really new way of thinking" Jasmine explains."Every actor will be (or already was) shot alone, and every conversation practically will be seen after the editing. It’s just like working on blue screen with animated characters. All our cast has to have great imagination. Plus there are many scenes where people say one thing and write another. Internet is so new way of communicate, we'll show it in the movie.

International fun

What about the international aspect of the movie? “We are still working on it” Ula says. “Our friends, mostly online ones, who live in NY, Glasgow, London or Dublin are helping us very much, still casting new people and spread the word. Plus we plan huge internet campaign.” How it’s possible without such great money? “We do online stuff for almost ten years” Ula smirks. “You’ll be amazed. Plus we have something special for all of you, but it’s still a secret”.Wishmasters thought very long about the language of the script, at first written in Polish, but then rewritten in English. “It’s not possible to talk or write to the international communities using your mother language. But nobody is perfect and for many of us English isn’t the first language. “ Jasmine explains. “Sure, it wasn’t simple but it was simpler than we all thought.” Nobody expects that everybody will have perfect accent “It wouldn’t be very much true.” Ula says. “Just try to talk with random person through video chat, and you’ll see by yourself. There’re people from all around the world.”If you want to play a part go here. If you just want to make special appearance, send email to the production office and tell why you want to be in the movie. “We could find a part for everybody” Jasmine assures. The project is still growing and new ideas appear every day. Wishmasters promise they will be update their website and blog very often, so add this address to your favorite ones.
